Abu Dhabi, December 10 — Chinese embodied AI leader AI² Robotics made its UAE debut at the BRIDGE Summit, unveiling its latest general-purpose robot, AlphaBot 2, before an international audience of over 60,000 attendees from 132 countries.
The robot demonstrated unprecedented versatility by performing two complex tasks—autonomous coffee preparation and live drumming—using identical hardware and AI models, with no scripting or remote operation required.
The BRIDGE Summit, which attracted 1,200 chief executives and 5,000 media representatives, served as the venue for AI² Robotics to formalize its role as the event’s strategic robotics partner. An agreement was signed between H.E. Dr. Jamal Mohammed Obaid Al Kaabi, Vice Chairman of BRIDGE, and Dr. Yandong Guo, Founder and CEO of AI² Robotics, focusing on expanding general-purpose robotics deployment in the UAE in alignment with national AI objectives.
AlphaBot 2’s capabilities stem from GOVLA, described as the world’s first Global & Omnibody Vision-Language-Action model. The technology enables comprehensive 360-degree environmental perception, full-body coordination, and extended task planning—all processed directly on the device without cloud dependency.
Dr. Guo presented the company’s development framework during his keynote address, emphasizing the integration of artificial intelligence, hardware engineering, and practical deployment scenarios. “Without AI, it’s just metal. Without hardware, it’s just code. Without scenarios, it’s just a demo,” he stated.
The company has deployed AlphaBot 2 across multiple sectors in China, including manufacturing, biotechnology, semiconductors, and public services. Real-world operational data from these deployments continues to refine the GOVLA system.
Dr. Guo projected that general-purpose robots represent the next major category of intelligent devices, forecasting widespread consumer adoption in the future.
