In a major boost to the UAE’s aerospace ambitions, Airbus and Mubadala Investment Company signed a US$400 million agreement that cements closer industrial cooperation on Airbus’s A400M military transport aircraft.
The strategic agreement, sealed at the Dubai Airshow, places Strata, Mubadala’s composite aerostructures manufacturing unit, on course to be a major supplier for the A400M program.
Not only does this deepen industrial cooperation, but it also reinforces Mubadala’s aim of making the UAE a global aerospace hub.
Among the key deliverables will be the development and establishment of a National Aerospace Training Center of Excellence at Al Ain, which will help develop UAE nationals into skilled workers for the rapidly growing aerospace sector.
According to Jean-Brice Dumont, head of Air Power at Airbus, this agreement is a milestone that underlines one common objective: increasing industrial capability in the UAE while fostering closer, long-term, and sustainable aerospace partnerships.
This transaction constitutes one more important step in the deepening relationship between Airbus and Mubadala. It builds on decades of collaboration, including aerostructure production through Strata, and aligns with the UAE’s wider strategy to localize high-value manufacturing in aerospace.
