Dubai’s skyline has reached another landmark moment in 2026.
Work on the 82-storey Al Habtoor Tower in Dubai has reached a significant milestone, with 65 percent of the structural framework complete. The skyscraper, located in Al Habtoor City along Sheikh Zayed Road, is one of Dubai’s most closely watched residential developments, both for its scale and for its location within one of the city’s prime real estate districts.
The topping-out milestone marks the point at which the tower’s full structural height has been achieved — a critical construction milestone that signals the project is firmly on track for its December 2026 handover target.
What Makes Al Habtoor Tower Significant
The Habtoor Tower is the largest residential building in the world, comprising 1,701 keys over a built-up area of 3,517,313 sq ft and 81 floors above ground, strategically located on the banks of the Dubai Water Canal, overlooking the Burj Khalifa in the Business Bay area.
The project has implemented 100-metre-deep barrette foundations and an innovative six-day floor cycle time for above-ground construction. The tower will feature 24 high-speed elevators capable of travelling at 7 metres per second.
The Investment Play
Al Habtoor Tower will accommodate more than 1,000 apartments ranging from one- to four-bedroom units, alongside penthouses offering panoramic views of the Burj Khalifa, Business Bay, and the Dubai Canal. The project also targets LEED Platinum certification — positioning it at the intersection of luxury and sustainability in Dubai’s booming property market.
