Dubai has approved three groundbreaking projects under the Dubai 10X Initiative, reinforcing the emirate’s commitment to staying ten years ahead of global cities through innovation and future-focused governance. The initiatives target critical sectors including urban mobility, healthcare, and travel efficiency.
The 20-Minute City Vision
Led by the Roads and Transport Authority, this urban mobility project aims to ensure residents can access 80% of essential services within 20 minutes through walking, cycling, and sustainable transport. The pilot program has already begun in Al Barsha 2, implemented in partnership with Dubai Municipality and Dubai Police to improve road safety, increase shaded green areas, and introduce flexible mobility corridors.
Early Disease Detection System
The Dubai Health Authority is spearheading a proactive healthcare initiative focused on early diagnosis to improve care outcomes while reducing treatment costs. The pilot phase targets diabetes, which currently costs Dubai an estimated AED 2.78 billion annually. The system leverages predictive technology to enable earlier intervention across multiple hospitals and health centers, including Canadian Specialist Hospital, Aster Clinics, and King’s College Hospital London.
City Terminal Project
Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects will enable travelers to complete check-in procedures at locations across Dubai before being transported directly to airport departure halls via secure vehicles. This innovation aims to reduce airport congestion, streamline travel operations, and enhance passenger experiences throughout the journey.
These projects emerged from approximately 80 suggestions submitted by Dubai government employees, demonstrating the collaborative spirit driving innovation across the public sector. Launched in 2017, the Dubai 10X Initiative continues pioneering high-impact government models that support Dubai’s leadership in future-ready governance.
