As geopolitical tensions across the Middle East continue, the UAE and Indonesia have reaffirmed their strong diplomatic ties — and their shared commitment to peace.
UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto held a high-level phone call, during which both leaders underscored the urgent need for an immediate halt to the ongoing military escalation.
At the heart of the discussion were Iran’s continued attacks on the UAE. The two sides addressed the Iranian attacks targeting the UAE and other countries in the region — including strikes on civilians, civilian infrastructure, and vital facilities — condemning them as a direct violation of sovereignty and international law.
Indonesia made its position unambiguous. President Subianto reaffirmed his country’s condemnation of the attacks, expressed solidarity with the UAE, and fully backed all measures being taken to protect the nation’s security, stability, and the safety of its residents and visitors. He also praised the UAE’s effective management of the crisis.
Both leaders were aligned on the path forward. Sheikh Mohamed and President Subianto jointly called for prioritising dialogue and diplomacy to resolve regional issues, maintain stability, and prevent further crises from unfolding.
The call also covered bilateral relations. The two presidents reaffirmed their commitment to deepening UAE-Indonesia cooperation under the framework of their Comprehensive Economic Partnership.
As the region navigates one of its most turbulent periods in recent memory, the UAE continues to strengthen its international alliances — making clear that security, diplomacy, and multilateral cooperation remain its guiding principles.
