Life Healthcare Group, the UAE’s most significant healthcare-retail conglomerate, and CJ Olive Young, the largest health and beauty retailer in South Korea, have signed a landmark MOU to deepen K-Beauty leadership in the UAE and the wider GCC.
Held in Abu Dhabi with top representation, headed by Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, and Yeo Han-koo, Minister for Trade of Korea, the agreement underpins a shared ambition to grow the Korean beauty footprint in the region.
Under this partnership, the companies will work towards expanding K-Beauty portfolios in the UAE by onboarding top-tier and emerging Korean brands. They will also invest in “experiential retail” with the launch of consumer engagement, joint marketing, and immersive beauty experiences.
Adam Abdul Nazar, Deputy CEO of Life Healthcare Group, called the partnership “a defining moment” for the beauty and wellness industry of the country. He praised Olive Young’s global reputation for curating cutting-edge beauty innovation and sees this as an opportunity to introduce those innovations to millions of UAE consumers.
Lee Suk Joon, Vice Chairman at CJ Corporation, reiterated that the dynamic beauty market in the UAE has made the nation an ideal partner. He further expressed confidence that this alliance will bring not only Korean beauty culture to the region but could also build a long-term foundation for growth across the GCC.
This strategic MOU is not just business; it positions the UAE as a regional hub for Korean beauty innovation, underpinning economic ties between the two nations. With this, K-Beauty is all set to scale up faster, powered by Life Healthcare’s wide retail footprint and Olive Young’s brand expertise.
