Travel insurance demand in the UAE has jumped 45% as residents prepare for year-end holidays, from National Day breaks to Christmas and New Year trips. The spike is driven by rising outbound travel, greater risk awareness, and growing interest in adventure, nature-based, and solo journeys.
Travellers are increasingly seeking protection against common issues like flight delays, lost baggage, and medical emergencies. Premiums are also rising due to global uncertainties, but UAE residents—especially those aged 28 to 45—are willing to pay more for stronger coverage.
Inbound visitors are following the trend too, with a 48% rise in travel insurance purchases via online platforms.
For UAE travellers, insurance has shifted from optional to essential, becoming a standard part of every getaway plan.
