The UAE revealed the world’s biggest AI chip at the World Governments Summit in Dubai, featuring 4 trillion transistors on a single wafer—a major step in the country’s AI development.
What Makes It Special
The chip, developed by Stargate under Abu Dhabi’s G42, packs 4,000 billion transistors onto one piece of silicon. G42 CEO Peng Xiao explained that AI needs massive computing power, and these transistors form the heart of data centers producing intelligence.
Where It Will Be Used
The chip powers Stargate, G42’s 1-gigawatt AI data center cluster in Abu Dhabi. By summer 2026, the UAE will add 200-500 megawatts of AI capacity quarterly. The goal: serving 40% of the world’s population with AI services.
Global Reach
G42 built undersea cable networks connecting the UAE globally. From this location, the company reaches 4 billion people—from Singapore to Milan—with less than 100 milliseconds delay, positioning the UAE as a global AI hub.
Trust and Security
Lt General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, emphasized global trust in the UAE’s AI approach. The country applies the same strict data safety standards to companies as it does to embassies.
Looking Ahead
The chip deployment supports the UAE’s vision of making AI as essential as electricity. The infrastructure enables the country to export AI services across the region and beyond.
