AD Ports Group handled over 70,000 TEUs through Fujairah Terminals and managed 100 cargo vessels daily during regional tensions, demonstrating the resilience of UAE supply chains.
Amid heightened regional tensions, AD Ports Group delivered a powerful demonstration of the UAE’s supply chain resilience — processing more than 70,000 Twenty-foot Equivalent Units (TEUs) through Fujairah Terminals and managing over 100 cargo vessels per day throughout the period of disruption.
AD Ports’ Green Corridor Keeps Trade Flowing
Speaking at Make it in the Emirates 2026, Saif Al Mazrouei, CEO of the Ports Cluster at AD Ports Group, credited the UAE’s proactive infrastructure investments and integrated logistics network for maintaining uninterrupted trade. A key tool was the activation of pre-planned alternative logistics routes, including the “Green Corridor” — a mechanism that allows cargo arriving at Fujairah Terminals to be processed as if it had arrived at Khalifa Port or other UAE ports.
This integration between Zayed Port, Khalifa Port and Fujairah Terminals, along with connections to Gulf neighbours including Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait, ensured trade continuity even as regional shipping routes faced significant pressure.
Fleet Expansion and New Regional Services
AD Ports Group also launched new regional container shipping services during this period and expanded its fleet to 24 vessels dedicated to container and bulk cargo. Services operated by SAFEEN Feeders and Global Feeder Shipping were rerouted through Fujairah and Khorfakkan Port on the Gulf of Oman, creating alternative gateways for both UAE and GCC markets.
Why Fujairah Is Central to UAE Logistics Strategy
Fujairah’s strategic location outside the Strait of Hormuz makes it an increasingly vital logistics and transshipment hub. Al Mazrouei confirmed that these operations maintained regular shipping services across three major trade corridors connecting the UAE’s eastern ports, the Arabian Sea and the Red Sea — reinforcing the UAE’s position as a reliable and resilient global trade hub.
