Fujairah Terminals, operating under the AD Ports Group umbrella, has signed three strategic land lease agreements in a move designed to deepen the UAE’s logistics capabilities and cement Fujairah’s role as a critical node in regional and global trade networks.
The agreements were concluded with Fujairah International Airport, Fujairah Free Zone Authority and Al Dahra Agriculture Trading. Together, they cover a combined land area of 130,000 square metres and are expected to enhance connectivity, improve supply chain efficiency and unlock new commercial opportunities across regional and international markets.
Why This Matters for UAE Trade Infrastructure
The timing of these agreements is significant. With global shipping routes under pressure and the UAE doubling down on supply chain resilience, expanding port-adjacent logistics capacity at Fujairah — strategically located on the country’s eastern coast outside the Strait of Hormuz — directly supports national priorities around economic diversification and trade security.
The leased areas will be used to develop logistics and industrial facilities that integrate more effectively with Fujairah Terminals’ existing port infrastructure, extending its multimodal service offering across containerised cargo, general cargo, Ro-Ro, and cruise operations.
A Growing Regional Gateway
Established in 2017, Fujairah Terminals operates a quay wall stretching 1,000 metres at a depth of 15 metres, enabling the terminal to handle large-scale vessels. Its geographic position makes it a natural gateway for trade with the Indian Subcontinent, East Africa and global markets via the Arabian Sea.
Captain Mohamed Al Yahyaei, CEO of Fujairah Terminals, noted that the agreements reflect a commitment to strengthening Fujairah’s position as a regional and global trade gateway, by expanding partnerships across logistics, infrastructure and key industries.
The move aligns with AD Ports Group’s broader strategy to deliver integrated, end-to-end supply chain solutions connecting ports, free zones, logistics platforms and digital services — reinforcing the UAE’s ambition to remain one of the world’s top logistics and maritime hubs well into the next decade.
