In 2025, Omani non-oil exports to the UAE hit RO 1.31 billion — up 25.3% year-on-year. The UAE also accounted for 35.2% of all Omani re-exports, with goods valued at RO 724 million, a 27.2% jump from 2024. On the import side, Omani purchases from the UAE grew 5.4% to over RO 4.1 billion.
Why the UAE leads
It comes down to infrastructure and access. UAE free zones, world-class ports, and streamlined customs procedures make it the natural gateway for Omani goods heading to global markets. For re-exports in particular, the UAE’s position as a global logistics hub is hard to match.
The bigger picture
Oman’s total trade dipped slightly to RO 40.4 billion in 2025, largely because oil revenues fell — crude averaged $71 per barrel, down from $80.8 in 2024. But non-oil trade told a better story: non-oil exports rose 7.5% and re-exports climbed 20.3%, both signs that Oman’s diversification push under Vision 2040 is gaining momentum.
Saudi Arabia and India also grew as export destinations, though trade with South Korea and the US declined.
The takeaway
For UAE businesses, this is a corridor worth paying attention to. Demand is growing on both sides, and sectors like chemicals, metals, machinery and logistics are well placed to benefit.
