Marjan CEO Announces 2027 Opening of Wynn’s RAK Gaming Resort in UAE

The highly anticipated construction of Wynn Integrated Resort at Marjan Islands is on schedule, reports confirmed. Wynn Al Marjan will be a 70-storey joint venture project developed by US-based casino and hotel operator Wynn Resorts, Marjan, and RAK Hospitality Holding, which had topped out at the 61st floor as of August. In 2024, Wynn Resorts secured the UAE’s first commercial gaming operator license, which paved the way for its inaugural integrated gaming resort in the MENA region.

This will be one of the biggest projects in the UAE that everyone is eagerly waiting for, and this gaming resort will add 1,542 hotel keys and over 22 F&B lounges that will increase the number of visitors to the emirate.

Wynn’s RAK gaming resort will have a wider economic impact. Recruitment for several job positions has already started, with 78 open positions listed as of September 21. Reports suggest that more than 80 employees were already onboarded by Wynn in April, with the expectation to reach around 300 employees by the end of this year.

The $3.9 billion Wynn Al Marjan resort is being built on its own island and will be the first ever integrated gaming resort in the UAE, spanning over 60 hectares, extending into the Arabian Gulf. According to the CEO of Wynn Resorts, Craig Billings, this is going to be a milestone in the gaming market of the UAE, as it is expected to reach up to $5 billion.

Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Expansion

This project will continue Ras Al Khaimah’s growth story with strong potential for further growth. Apart from the highly anticipated gaming features, Wynn Al Marjon will also provide additional non-gaming amenities that attract all types of visitors. Over 3.5 million visitors are expected by the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority by 2030, and to achieve this, the emirate needs more hospitality keys, together with more active investor involvement in real estate, especially in hotels and apartments.
