Dubai is setting a new global benchmark in artificial intelligence adoption. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, has announced a two-year initiative to embed agentic AI — self-executing, autonomous artificial intelligence—across the city’s private sector.
The plan directly follows a wider UAE directive to transition 50% of federal government sectors and services to agentic AI within two years, announced under the leadership of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The private sector push amplifies that ambition by extending autonomous AI into commercial operations.
Under the programme, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry will establish dedicated incubators for agentic AI companies, create economic opportunities for young professionals in the field, and set up funds to back this emerging technology shift.
Agentic AI goes beyond simple automation. These systems can independently plan, make decisions, execute workflows, and refine processes in real time — with minimal human input. For Dubai’s business community, this signals a fundamental shift in how companies will operate, compete, and deliver services.
Businesses that adopt AI agents early stand to gain significant productivity advantages. Those who delay risk falling behind as the city’s regulatory, commercial, and government ecosystem rapidly rewires itself around autonomous intelligence.
