The UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure has launched the Maritime Bundle, a world-first initiative unifying maritime transport services under one comprehensive digital platform for both national and foreign vessels at UAE ports.
Dramatic Efficiency Gains
The Maritime Bundle addresses a critical industry challenge: commercial vessels currently must complete 365 procedures, fill in 552 data fields, and submit 117 documents. The new system achieves up to 99% reduction in procedures and documentation with significant decreases in service completion time.
Comprehensive Digital Integration
The bundle includes 28 services delivered in partnership with 62 entities, serving more than 38,000 beneficiaries annually. It has already achieved a 92% customer satisfaction rate in its initial phase.
The platform integrates with major international maritime organizations including Lloyd’s Register, China Classification Society, and Indian Register of Shipping, alongside federal and local UAE government authorities.
Serving Major Maritime Traffic
The system serves 3,377 national vessels and 35,322 foreign vessels calling at UAE ports, highlighting the scale of operations and the need for streamlined digital solutions in the region.
Phased Global Expansion
The first phase targets insurance companies within the UAE, with plans to expand internationally. This approach strengthens the UAE’s position as a unified global platform for maritime transport operations and enhances international shipping supply chain reliability.
Impact on Global Maritime Trade
The Maritime Bundle reinforces the UAE’s role as a pivotal hub in international maritime infrastructure development. By reducing bureaucratic friction and accelerating service delivery, the platform positions UAE ports as increasingly competitive destinations for global shipping lines.
This digital transformation aligns with the UAE’s broader 2030 vision for maritime sector modernization, incorporating IoT, big data analytics, AI, and real-time fleet management capabilities.
The launch comes as maritime transport faces increasing complexity in a globalized economy, making digital integration essential for maintaining competitive advantage and operational efficiency.
